With the opening of
rural cyber cafes in Dhar district of Madhaya Pradesh,
the benefits of information technology are now being
extended to the villages. The first such cafe was opened
by Chief Minister Digvijay Singh at Dhehrisurya village
here yesterday.
Twenty-one such internet-intranet cyber cafes,
named as 'suchanalaya', have been started in five blocks
of Dhar district under the Gyuandoot project, according
to an official release her today.
Through this project benefits of I-T have
been extended directly to the people, the Chief Minister
said, The Chief Minister said this scheme would be Implemented
all over the state in the next two years. It would be
used for alleviating the problems of the people and
extending various facilities to them.
In a message sent through the cyber cafe to all the

districts,
he said apart from bringing about economic prosperity,
it could also engineer social change this would enable
the common man to have access to all public offices,
making the bureaucracy more transparent and democratic,
headded.
District Collector Dr Rajesh Rajora said panchayats
had been connected throughj21 cyber cafe. Information
on prices of main agricultural products in mandis, copies
of kasra, khatoni for obtaining loans and other purposes,
online registration of public grievances and e-mail
replies would be provided, he said.
The zila pahchayat has made available funds amounting
to Rs lakh for the project. Each operator would provide
10 percent commission from its in come to the zila panchayat.
All the 21 centers have been set up at central locations
in roadside villages in the district. A remote access
server has been provided at the computer control room
of the zila panchayat for operating the network.
