INDORE, JAN 13.
With the opening of rural cyber cafes in Dhar district
of MadhyaPradesh, the benefits of Information technology
have begun to be extended to the villages also.
The first such rural cyber café of the state at
village Dhehri Saraya was inaugurated by the Chief minister,
Mr. Digvijay Sigh, here yesterday.
As many as 21 such Internet cyber cafes, named
as suchanalayas, have been started in five blocks of
Dhar district under the Gyandoot project, according
to an official release here today.
Through the project, benefits of information technology
have been extended directly to the people, the Chief
Minister said, adding that similar initiative would
be taken in other districts also.
The Chief Minister said this scheme would be implemented
all over the state in the next two years. He
said it would be used in alleviating the problems of
the people and extending various facilities to them.
In a message sent through cyber café to all

the districts,
he said apart from bringing about economic prosperity,
it could also engineer social change, This would enable
the common man to have access to all public offices
rendering bureaucracy more transparent and democratic.
Throwing light on the project, the Collector, Dr. Rajesh
Rajora, said that 311gram panchayats had been connected
through 21 suchnalayas. The Information on prices of
main agricultural produces in mandis, copies of kasra,
khatonl for obtaining loans and other purposes, online
registration of provided through this network, he said.
Zila panchayats have made available funds to the tune
of Rs.25lakh for the project. Every operator would provide
10 per cent commission from its income to zila panchayat.
All the 21 suchnalayas have been setup at the central
locations of road said villages in the district. A remote
access server has been established at the computer control
room of zila panchayat for operation of the network-UNI.
